A popular Folly Beach restaurant and bar, Jack Of Cups Saloon, will soon be adding a second location on James Island.

Construction permits were approved this week for the buildout of a unit at 915 Folly Road in the Shoppes of Folly Road, between Thai Elephants and Mondo Italian. An Instagram post by the brand introduced the sister location, Jack Of Cups Trading Post, as “the [Jack of Cups] you know, but also new stuff and things.”

Co-owner Nick Della Penna confirmed to What Now Charleston that the location is forthcoming but has run into construction delays since its first announcement in May. With permits granted by the county, it looks like an official opening timeline could be around the corner.

Della Penna and co-owner/chef Lesley Carroll opened the original Jack of Cups in 2014. It serves creative cocktails and Eastern-inspired cuisine in a laidback local pub atmosphere. It has become a fan favorite for beachgoers thanks to its quirky flair and vegetarian options.

Local contractors RM Buck Builders are leading the upfit of the new location. An opening date has not yet been publicly shared.
