A new layer is being added to Beaufort’s lunch lineup this fall.

Sister Sister Deli and Market, owned by Sami and Danielle Mussman, will be located at 403 Carteret St.

“Our relationship has kind of revolved around food. It’ something that brought us together,” Sami Mussman told What Now Charleston. “When we were younger we both went to Sweden and worked on a charcuterie farm. It was very farm to table, so I think that’s what fueled the concept for us.”

The Mussmans plan to offer cut-to-order cheese and charcuterie featuring American artisans, made-to-order sandwiches with house-made deli meats, pickles and condiments, and a curated selection of gourmet goods from small domestic producers, including their own specialties.

While the full menu hasn’t been released yet, early previews include confit chicken wings with truffled Alabama white sauce and an Old Bay Lowcountry shrimp melt topped with house pickles, capers, tomatoes and whiskey cheddar cheese.

“Sister Sister Deli & Market will be your new go-to for thoughtfully sourced, 100% American-made food and provisions. Our space is part neighborhood deli, part gourmet market — all built around a deep love of good food, community, and sustainability,” the sisters shared on Facebook.

As for the design, the sisters plan to keep the interior neutral, featuring shades of white, shell and walnut, accented with their favorite color — sage green. Woven textured wallpaper will add depth to the walls. Outside, they plan to replace the existing neon green with white and are also working on updating the patio.

Eager to become part of Beaufort’s growing food scene, the sisters have begun promoting their brand with custom T-shirts made by New South Shirts.

“I’m really excited to have a space where we can be creative together,” Mussman said, “Being able to bounce off ideas on each other has been super fun and rewarding.”

An exact opening date has not been announced, however, they plan to open in October. Updates, sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes content will be shared on the deli’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
