A new Italian restaurant is coming soon to North Myrtle Beach.

According to The Sun News, Benny Rappa the Italian Fisherman signage has been spotted in the former Hurricane Colinz space at 203 Sea Mountain Hwy. Owners Benny Rappa and his wife Michele aim to serve “upper-scale seafood with an Italian flare,” said Benny.

For locals, the name “Benny Rappa” might ring a bell. Back in 1996, the Rappas opened Benny Rappa’s Trattoria, just a few minutes away from their new digs.

In 2019, they renamed it Benny’s Trattoria and sold the restaurant so Benny could retire. However, it wasn’t long before he felt the itch to return, and encouraged by former customers’ requests for a new spot, he decided to make a comeback.

While there is no set opening date for the new restaurant, Michele told The Sun News that the duo is aiming for a summer 2024 grand opening. Once open, Benny Rappa the Italian Fisherman will operate from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday for dinner service, and from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday through Saturday for lunch.
