A popular Chinese restaurant in West Ashley will soon relocate.

Old Li’s Restaurant is moving from its current location on Savannah Hwy to a bigger space at 4951 Centre Pointe Dr in North Charleston. The restaurant will close on July 14, 2024, and reopen at its new location in November. An employee of Old Li’s confirmed this development with What Now Charleston.

According to The Post and Courier, Old Li’s opened in 2021 after owner Lao Li, unable to find any local examples of food from his native Fujian Province, decided to bring Min cuisine to Charleston.

The eatery serves a variety of classic Chinese dishes, from dumplings and spring rolls to egg drop soup and shrimp fried rice. In addition to these traditional offerings, Old Li’s also features lesser-known authentic dishes like sea oyster pancake, squirrel fish, and lychee meat.

From June 6 to July 14, Old Li’s customers can enjoy a 15% discount on orders over $20, whether ordered online or in-store.
