A third location of a popular smoothie bowl franchise will soon open in the Charleston area.
Franchisees Bill and Shannon Merkler are bringing Playa Bowls to 2465 N Main St, Suite A, at the new Uptown Carnes Crossroads development in Goose Creek/downtown Summerville.
With more than 200 branches nationwide, Playa Bowls already boasts two locations in downtown Charleston and Mount Pleasant, both of which are overseen by the Merklers.
Alongside its popular açaí, pitaya, and coconut bowls, Playa Bowls features a variety of smoothies, cold brew, oatmeal, and cold-pressed juices. Notable menu items include the Nutella Oatmeal Bowl, Açaí Power Bowl, and Sweet Cream Cold Brew. The restaurant also offers catering services at select locations.
The Merklers did not immediately respond to What Now Charleston’s requests for comment. Although a grand opening date has not yet been announced, the Summerville Playa Bowls Facebook page states that it will be revealed “as soon as inspections are complete.”
