A new Asian restaurant is set to move in to the King Street space where a long-standing salad spot vacated just four months ago.

Summerville local Ed Brown is gearing up to bring King Street Foods to 347 King Street later this year. That was the home of clean eating kitchen Verde for the past twelve years, until they opted not to renew their lease in June. The replacement news comes just as Verde is planning to reopen with a more compact to-go location down the road.

Brown and his partners own three other restaurants in Florida – Sushi Thai in Downtown Naples, and two others in Marco Island and Bonita Springs. They’re currently working to bring a new restaurant to Savannah, and plan to pursue another restaurant in Charleston – according to reporting by Post and Courier, they’re eyeing the Nexton area.

Brown told What Now Charleston they’re aiming for November or December to open the King Street location.
