Tradesman Brewing Co. yesterday announced that it will soon close its taproom at 1647 King St Extended in Downtown Charleston. However, this isn’t the end of the road for the popular brewery.
In a Facebook post, founders Scott and Sara Gayle McConnell, along with their business partners Ron and Heather Montano and Shawn and Heather Herman, assured fans that their award-winning brews will continue to be available throughout South Carolina.
They also mentioned that they’re actively searching for a new taproom to call home, where they plan to offer both new and classic creations.
“There is a lot we will miss from the King St Ext. location; however, we are looking forward to what is yet to come,” they wrote.
With 13 national awards to its name, Tradesman Brewing Co. made history as James Island’s first brewery when it opened in 2014, later relocating to its current King St Extended location.
Sara Gayle told The Post and Courier that the decision to close was mutually agreed upon by the brewery’s ownership group and their landlord.
A send-off celebration will be held at the brewery from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, featuring live music by Jason Ayers. The brewery will officially close the following day, August 18, 2024, at 6 p.m.
Stay tuned for updates as Tradesman Brewing Co. embarks on this new chapter, and follow them on social media for information on where to find their beer on tap and in cans.
