In March, What Now Charleston reported that Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream & Sandwich Cafe would be opening an eighth Lowcountry location. Now, the popular local ice cream chain is set to make its Daniel Island debut.

According to Daniel Island News, Ye Ole Fashioned is coming to the new Gates at Point Hope development on Renaissance Lane. It will join a range of new eateries, including Catrina’s Tacos & Tequila, Dunkin’, and Domino’s.

Since its inception in 1972 by founder Rod Lapin, the beloved brand has expanded to include six additional regional restaurants.

The Ye Ole Fashioned menu boasts an array of American classics including ice cream, burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, salads, and sandwiches.

While an official opening date has yet to be announced, construction has been ongoing at Gates at Point Hope for several months now.
