A Southern women’s clothing boutique is growing its footprint in South Carolina with a new expansion.
Dress Up, co-owned by Danielle and Derrick Case, will open in Columbia’s BullStreet District, a mixed-use development featuring dining, retail and residential spaces.
“Columbia has always been on our radar. It was always a desire. BullStreet is a great spot. They’re basically building this little community, and we’ll be right in the middle of it. We love to be in the middle of the action,” director of operations Danielle Wellborn told What Now Charleston.
Dress Up launched in Dahlonega, Ga., in 2009 and has since grown to 16 storefront locations across the Southeast, including Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama and South Carolina. The Columbia shop will mark the brand’s 17th location and its third in South Carolina, joining existing stores in Greenville and Charleston.
The boutique stands out for its weekly arrivals of fresh inventory, including dresses, rompers, blouses, shorts, jewelry and heels. New items and arrivals are also available online.
“Every time someone comes into the store, the store looks different. We get 65 new styles every week, so we’re constantly moving things and rearranging the store. The goal is to always be new. That’s what sets us apart,” Wellborn said.
Dress Up also offers location-specific exclusive items, including custom T-shirts and hats, depending on the town.
Wellborn, who will serve as the area director for the Columbia store, is excited to join a new community.
“We’re so excited! I can’t wait! We really love to make sure our customers have a great experience when they come into the store. It’s not just a shopping destination, it’s all about the experience,” she said.
Dress Up aims to open this fall. Visit the website and follow along on Instagram for the latest updates.
