With “nearly 300 stores and growing,” Royal Farms is a chain of gas stations and convenience stores with locations in states like Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and North Carolina.

Now, according to coverage published this week by The State, construction has begun on a new Royal Farms convenience store at 446 Clemson Road in northeast Columbia, at the corner of Earth Road.

Royal Farms is a constant roadside favorite for refueling, whether you’re looking for gasoline, snacks, coffee, or “world famous chicken.”

“The northeast Columbia Royal Farms will be coming to a busy area,” the coverage says. “About 30,000 cars per day travel down Clemson Road north of I-20, per state Department of Transportation stats. The store will also be about a mile from the Market at Spears Creek shopping development, anchored by a Publix grocery store, that opened last year at 185 Earth Road.”

Opening in the Clemson Road location, it will also be competing with Parker’s Kitchen, the Savannah-based convenience-store-plus-fast-food-restaurant, which has a location on the corner of Spears Creek Church Road and Earth Road.
