Mimosas are on their way to Oakhurst Commons, which announced North Carolina concept Brunches as one of the newest tenants slated to join the development. The brunch spot is expected to open in August and will mark the first Charlotte location for the chain, according to a release.
Danny and Earl McPherson opened the first Brunches location in 2019 in Wilmington. Since then, they have added two more locations in Wilmington, one in Carolina Beach, one in Cary and one in Henrico, Virginia. The Charlotte location will mark the seventh location for the brand. Brunches also lists a variety of other markets it expects to join soon, including Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Greenville, Columbia in South Carolina, Atlanta, Dallas, Oklahoma City and Nashville.
Featuring the tagline “Mimosas made me do it,” Brunches serves a variety of breakfast, brunch and lunch classics, including burritos, bowls, omelets, benedicts, burgers and salads. They also offer a menu later in the day, featuring “brew bites” like nachos and chicken tenders, breakfast for dinner, fish tacos and entrees like Wagyu meatloaf. The drink menu highlights mimosas (and mimosa flights), coffee cocktails and brunch shots.
Brunches joins a flurry of other tenants heading to Oakhurst Commons. Fitness destination The Health Club debuted there in February, and Ilios Crafted Greek opened their fourth Charlotte location there in March. They join neighborhood work club Switchyards, physical therapy specialist Made2Move and massage studio Mood House.
Kitchen and bath remodeling firm DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen has also inked a lease for the development and Wildlands Engineering has plans to relocate its headquarters to Oakhurst Commons.
“Oakhurst Commons is providing the neighborhood a long-awaited destination of innovative businesses, including dining and service-oriented concepts that create a hub for the community and provide a differentiated, richly amenitized workplace,” Alex Mann, broker with Thrift Commercial Real Estate Services, said in the release. “With the latest food and beverage announcements and openings, we have created a very unique work and play destination. Whether you want to enjoy midday mimosas or treat yourself to a great massage after your group fitness class, there is something for everyone here.”
