Tacos, fajitas, shareable margaritas and other popular Mexican dishes are heading to the Steele Creek neighborhood, courtesy of family-owned Rio 150, according to a recent Instagram announcement.

Operated by Rashel Limper, her husband Dylan and their family, Rio 150 finds its roots in Tijuana, Baja California, but serves the Charlotte area. It has been around since 2015, and it currently has two locations in Mooresville.

Another location is expected to open soon in Concord Mills. The local restaurant chain announced that the Concord location has passed inspections and is now training staff, though a grand opening date has not been announced yet.

The Steele Creek spot will be the fourth location for Rio 150. It will take over the former home to Chili’s Grill & Bar in Whitehall Commons at 8164 South Tryon St. and is expected to open in July, according to reporting by the Charlotte Observer. The Charlotte Observer also reported that it will have room to seat 220 guests.

The brand emphasizes fresh ingredients, homemade salsa made in-house daily, authentic tacos and a wide selection of tequila offerings. Menu items include nachos, tacos, tostadas, chicken soup, flautas, enchiladas and fajitas. Rio 150 is also known for its large margaritas.
