Smooth Monkey is preparing to expand its Charlotte footprint with a new Uptown location at 500 W. Trade St. The upcoming 1,100-square-foot store will be located next to The Pub Uptown, according to Axios Charlotte. An official opening date has not yet been announced, but the shop is expected to welcome its first customers later this month.
The new location marks the company’s third in the Charlotte area. Smooth Monkey first opened in Plaza Midwood in 2018 before adding a second shop in south Charlotte in 2024.
According to Axios Charlotte, the Uptown store will feature both indoor and outdoor seating, giving customers space to enjoy smoothies, acai bowls and cold-pressed juices on-site.
Founded on the idea of serving cleaner, more natural beverages, Smooth Monkey’s menu focuses on smoothies made without ice, added sugars or flavored syrups. Instead, the company blends whole fruits and vegetables with other natural ingredients to create a thicker, fruit-forward drink. In addition to smoothies, guests can choose from acai bowls, cold-pressed juices, wellness shots and other nutritious grab-and-go options, according to the company’s website.
The new Uptown location will bring the concept closer to office workers, residents and visitors in Charlotte’s central business district as Smooth Monkey continues its local growth.
