Lina’s Bakery & Café is set to join North Raleigh’s dining scene this August, marking the latest venture from the family behind LaGana. Raleigh Magazine recently reported that Carlos Lemus Sr. and his son, Carlos Lemus Jr., are preparing to open the new concept on Falls of Neuse Road.
According to Raleigh Magazine, the bakery will operate separately from LaGana, giving the family additional space to focus on desserts and experiment with menu items that could not be produced in the restaurant’s existing kitchen. The expanded operation is expected to feature a broader selection of baked goods while supporting the family’s growing business.
The new concept also carries special meaning for the Lemus family. Raleigh Magazine reported that Lina’s Bakery & Café is named after both Lemus Sr.’s mother and his mother-in-law, who share the name Lina.
Customers won’t have to worry about losing one of LaGana’s most popular offerings. The publication noted that the restaurant will continue serving the cakes that have helped build its reputation even after the bakery opens.
“The most inspiring part of this story isn’t just the desserts—it’s watching someone dedicate countless hours to mastering his craft, overcoming every obstacle placed in front of him, and turning passion into a thriving business,” Carlos Lemus Jr. said in comments shared by Raleigh Magazine. He added that opening Lina’s Bakery & Café represents years of dedication, perseverance and a commitment to quality.
