Abercrombie & Fitch is preparing to relocate into a larger storefront at SouthPark Mall, bringing a revamped 7,100-square-foot store to 4400 Sharon Road in Charlotte. The move is part of several fourth-quarter tenant changes underway at the mall, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

The retailer has temporarily closed its existing SouthPark location as it prepares to move into the adjacent space. Mecklenburg County issued a building permit valued at more than $945,000 for the new store, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

Abercrombie & Fitch offers contemporary apparel and accessories for men, women and kids, with collections that include denim, dresses, tops, pants and everyday essentials. The retailer’s website also highlights its A&F Curve Love and activewear collections.

The new SouthPark store will be operated by Abercrombie & Fitch Co., which also owns Hollister Co. The company operates several brands focused on apparel and accessories for men, women, and kids.

The Charlotte Business Journal reported that Abercrombie & Fitch also operates a Charlotte location at The Design Center for the Carolinas in South End. The SouthPark relocation will give the retailer a larger footprint at one of the region’s major shopping destinations.

An opening date for the new store has not been announced. The project is part of a broader round of SouthPark tenant changes expected during the fourth quarter.
