JP’s Pastry is expanding into the Triad with its first Greensboro location at 2130 New Garden Road, according to the Triad Business Journal Instagram post. The bakery is investing between $30,000 and $40,000 into the new location, marking another step in the North Carolina-based business’s continued growth. The Triad Business Journal reported that JP’s Pastry has opened three Triangle locations over the past two years.
Founded by Joe Parker, JP’s Pastry specializes in 100% gluten-free baked goods, with the company’s website describing its products as certified gluten-free. The bakery’s offerings include cakes, cupcakes, breakfast pastries, breads, brownies, muffins, and other desserts, according to the JP’s Pastry website. The company also offers vegan products as part of its broader selection.
The bakery operates from a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, a feature JP’s Pastry has emphasized as part of its approach to preventing gluten cross-contamination. The Johnston County Visitors Bureau previously reported that the Benson bakery was certified through the Gluten-Free Certification Organization and produces its baked goods without gluten-containing ingredients.
Among JP’s Pastry’s offerings are its signature banana nut muffins, brookies, and peanut butter brownies, all of which are listed as certified gluten-free on the company’s online ordering listings. The bakery also produces a variety of specialty cakes, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, breads, and seasonal desserts, according to the JP’s Pastry website.
The company has also developed a wholesale and direct-to-consumer business alongside its bakery locations. JP’s Pastry states that its products are sold through Whole Foods Market and specialty retailers throughout the East Coast, while its website allows customers to order products for nationwide shipping.
The Triad Business Journal reported that the Greensboro opening is part of a broader expansion strategy for the small business, with additional statewide and coastal growth under consideration.
