Features of the Golden Triangle Project
The village has approved the agreement with Mylo Residential for the Golden Triangle, an area that has been its top redevelopment priority since the 1990s. The project includes a mixed-use premise that will have residential, retail, and restaurant spaces.
The building will feature 125 luxury apartment units. It will also have about 12,000 square feet of restaurant and retail spaces at the street level, lining Hough Street. Moreover, located at the back of the main building will be 37 private car garages.
Project to Be Aligned with Planning Objectives
The Golden Triangle project is more than just building new residential and commercial spaces. Through the project, the village aspires to achieve a number of important planning objectives.
One of the objectives that will be achieved is the site’s environmental remediation. Furthermore, cohesive redevelopment of parcels located on the south side of West Liberty Street and new Class A retail and dining options will also be realized.
Karen Darch, Barrington Village President, said in a statement about the project, “The Golden Triangle redevelopment marks a major step forward in the evolution of our downtown. It brings thoughtful design and new amenities benefiting residents and visitors alike while further enhancing our already pedestrian-friendly community.”
Village Manager Scott Anderson also shared a few words about the project, stating, “This redevelopment represents decades of planning and vision coming to life.” He went on to state, “It’s a milestone moment that reflects our community’s commitment to smart growth and economic vitality.”
The Golden Triangle project is expected to have a positive effect on the downtown area of Barrington as it transforms a major gateway into the village.
