A neighborhood favorite BBQ destination, Billy Boy’s served its final dinner on September 1. The family-owned and operated restaurant in Chicago Ridge has been a local staple for the last 49 years.

Billy Boy’s served up some of the crowd favorites, including gyros, juicy burgers, hot dogs, Polish sausage, and chilli cheese dogs.

Other menu favorites included teriyaki chicken on pita, the spicy Cajun, Caribbean chicken, Italian beef, rib-eye steak, Reubens, and Buffalo chicken bites, served alongside salads and appetizers.

Billy Boy’s announced its closure in a Facebook post with a message, “From the family and staff at Billy Boy’s…thank you for an amazing 49 years! It was a pleasure serving our community with great food and excellent service! Today was our last day. God bless you all!”

Customer’s Reaction

The official announcement shared a heartfelt message for its loyal customers and staff, “We wish to extend our most heartfelt thanks to every one of you for your loyalty and support all these years. Your valued patronage has allowed us to share countless memories – often spanning generations of family members. We couldn’t have been successful without you. We would also like to thank our outstanding employees – both past and present – whose hard work and dedication have been integral in our success.”

Reacting to the news, one customer wrote, “Now where am I going to get my gyro fix???!”

“Spent my teenage years inside Billy Boys. Ham and cheese on a pita and a cheese fry. Yum! But all the food was delicious! You are an OL institution. Thank you,” another loyal and long-time customer wrote under the post.

After 49 years as a local favorite, Billy Boy’s will be remembered for its authentic BBQ and community presence.
