According to a recent article from Chicago Eater, Lemon will soon be coming to West Town at 1600 W Grand Avenue.

“The cocktail bar and venue will open this fall, aiming to establish a haven that nurtures creativity, dismantles misconceptions, and fosters meaningful connections. Inclusive by design, Lemon will ensure all patrons feel welcome and comfortable, regardless of their familiarity with cocktails or music genres.”

“As Chicago’s performance scene revives from its recent challenges, Lemon endeavors to contribute to its revitalization by providing a nurturing space for artists to flourish,” a representative from Lemon told What Now Chicago.

“The team behind the concept, Jeremy Barrett (General Manager & Co-Beverage Director), Zak McMahon (Co-Beverage Director), Seth Blumenthal (Director of Operations), and Mason McIntire (Creative Director) have a clear intention to marry the sophistication of a craft cocktail bar with the vibrancy of a live performance venue and gathering space.”

“Co-Beverage Directors Jeremy and Zak are finalizing cocktail menus to include classics, seasonals, and basics/trending accompanied by a hyper-local beer selection and a small but unique wine list. Together they will also spearhead a zero-alcohol cocktail program, leaning on expertise in crafting alcohol-free concoctions that cater to guests who don’t consume alcohol or are looking to reduce consumption.”

“Food options will include a curated selection of light bar snacks elevated by fine dining touches like house-marinated olives, deviled eggs, hot dogs with Lemon’s signature giardiniera, and more. Guests can expect a small but evolving food program that may eventually include more substantial options.”

Lemon is stated to embrace a spirited ethos of DIY and grassroots principles. The multifaceted space is poised to become a vibrant epicenter for artistic expression, offering a diverse range of music and art forms, spanning genres from folk and jazz to occasional punk and rap. Beyond music, Lemon aims to create an inclusive stage for comedy, drag, dance, and cabaret performances, providing a dynamic platform that champions local talent and independent artists alike.
