Tropical Smoothie Café Launches in South Loop, Chicago
Tropical Smoothie Café is bringing its tropical smoothies to Chicago’s South Loop location with the grand opening of its newest location at 1236 S. Canal St on Saturday.
The grand opening will feature giveaways, prizes, and fun throughout the day. The first 50 guests in line will receive free smoothies for a year, and the cafe will also offer free smoothies with any food or bowl purchase.
The franchise had been leading for the fourth year in a row ranked #1 in the Smoothie/Juice Category by Entrepreneur Franchisee 500. Tropical Smoothie Cafe has also earned Franchise Times’ Fast and Serious award for 12 consecutive years.
Franchisees Cesar Coronado and Marlon Sullivan are overseeing the South Loop opening after successfully operating several cafes across Chicagoland. They are also expanding their footprint with another Tropical Smoothie Café, soon opening on Madison Street in the Chicago Loop.
Mission to Inspire Healthier Lifestyles
Tropical Smoothie Cafe focuses on more than smoothies, it’s about building community connections. Following the grand opening, the cafe will partner with ChiGivesBack on October 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. to support underserved communities through education and service initiatives that create positive change. They have also pledged to donate 20% of all orders on that day to support ChiGivesBack’s mission.
As the only Tropical Smoothie Cafe in the South Loop, the location offers made-to-order smoothies, wraps, sandwiches, and flatbreads. The Café will also be available through DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub delivery apps.
Designed with a bright, modern aesthetic, the Café captures the brand’s signature tropical atmosphere.
Founded on a beach in 1997, Tropical Smoothie Cafe has grown to more than 1,600 locations across 44 states. With the Chicago opening, the brand invites guests to enjoy the tropical flavors that have defined it for nearly three decades.
