According to a recent article from the Chicago Tribune, Amore Mio will open its doors in Aurora, located at 33 W New York Street.
A representative of Amore Mio was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.
According to the article, “As of Friday, the restaurant had not opened. Signs in the windows declare the restaurant is “coming soon.”
“Roberto Avila and Erika Villanueva, the restaurant’s developers and owners, have been redeveloping the former Gillerson’s Grubbery building into Amore Mio, an Italian restaurant and piano bar paying homage to the Italian American restaurants of mid-20th century New York City.”
“Avila has said he sees the restaurant, added to other restaurants downtown including his own Altiro, as creating its own identity to attract people downtown, independently of theatrical offerings,” Chicago Tribune’s article states.
Amore Mio’s website describes the space as “Tucked into a basement-level, we will offer nightly live music Wednesday- Sunday where guests can lounge by the piano bar, bringing local musicians from surrounding communities to perform all classics and contemporary. At the bar and lounge area, you can enjoy martinis and classic and exceptional organic cocktails, carefully crafted by our mixologists.”
