Bar Siena, headed by executive chef and TV personality Fabio Viviani (think more than one season of Top Chef), will open an outpost in Skokie’s Old Orchard Shopping Center, reports Crain’s Chicago. The eatery is one of the many Chicago-area brands backed by DineAmic Hospitality, the restaurant group behind Prime & Provisions, Barrio, and Bar Siena’s sister restaurant Siena Tavern.
Bar Siena is the slightly more casual sibling to Siena Tavern and opened first in West Loop at 832 West Randolph St. The eatery serves a smaller, more seasonal menu that spans “various regions of Italy.”
Bar Siena Old Orchard will open in an 8,500 square-foot space on the southeast corner of Westfield Old Orchard shopping center, reports Crain’s, and will offer the Fulton Market-favorites like burrata with spicy apricot, octopus over swiss chard, and parm-crusted house rolls with prosciutto, fontina, and honey.
In addition to two dining patios, an outdoor all-season pergola will seat 100 patrons. The location will also house two private dining rooms.
“Much like its West Loop sister spot, Bar Siena Old Orchard’s vibe will be a combination of elements—the quaint and charming trattorias in Siena, Italy, and the industrial aesthetic of Chicagoland,” DineAmic Hospitality Founding Partner Luke Stoioff said in a press release. “We aim to bring the flavor, flare and energy of the casual Italian-American dining experience to the Midwest.”
Look for Bar Siena to open for lunch and dinner service as well as weekend brunch service in spring 2022.
