The newest Buona Italian beef location is coming to Indiana in the near future.
It was recently reported by Chicago Tribune that Buona is adding their 33rd location this summer in Crown Point. This will be attached to two other restaurants, Rainbow Cone ice cream shop and Taco Bell on 109th Avenue. The project is in collaboration with Rainbow Cone, and the exact address has not been confirmed.
Buona is one of the most well-known Italian beef restaurants in Chicago. The company has 31 company-owned restaurants and has 17 franchised locations on the way. According to the article, they just recently opened a restaurant in Gurnee and are planning franchised locations in Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin this fall.
The restaurant is known for their Buona beef sandwich, and they also have burgers and hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, salads, soups, pastas, pizzas and protein bowls. They have been serving Chicago for almost a century and opened their restaurant in 1981.
It was recently National Italian Beef Day on May 24, in which restaurants known for their Chicago beef sandwiches including Portillos showcased their sandwiches to the community. Buona held their own competition for customers to win “free beef for a year.”
What Now Chicago has reached out to the company, and this article may be updated.
