Butcher & The Burger, the upscale customizable burgers and breakfast restaurant with a butcher shop, is potentially expanding to a new location at O’Hare International Airport, located at 10000 W O’Hare Ave.

The second location is part of a recent ordinance from Mayor Lori Lightfoot. If approved, several new restaurants and retailers would be joining Terminals 3 ad 5, including Sparrow Coffee, Hampton Social, and Bar Sienna, by the end of the year. Acclaimed Chicago chef Al Sternweiler opened the original location in Chicago’s Ranch Triangle back in late-2011. If the city council approves of this ordinance, this will become Butcher & The Burger’s second location.

It’s too soon to say whether or not this new location will feature a butcher’s shop such as the original location. The airport will feature delicious burgers with grass-fed beef, fresh salmon, and shrimp. Guests can expect to find some of the restaurant’s house favorites, such as prime Angus burgers, cube steaks, and homemade vegan burgers. Burgers can be customized with different buns, toppings, and sauces. The new location will also likely offer homemade frozen custard.

“These new concessions at O’Hare offer small business opportunities at the world’s gateway to Chicago, while also providing exciting new options for travelers – including those using the revamped Terminal 5 opening later this year,” Mayor Lightfoot said in a press release. “This effort will bring an estimated 150 new jobs, and build on O’Hare’s reputation as one of the best airports in the country.”

  • I’m sorry, but this location was horrible and my first negative review ever. I decide to grab a burger at this new joint which had a nice looking menu……… I paid $24.59 for dry garbage. Asked for Medium and got burnt. Asked for all toppings and got none. I can confirm with my receipt they took my order right because I did ask for added bacon +2.50, pepper-jack cheese and those I did get on my 4 ingredient burger. Dry bun, dry burger, cheese and bacon with cold fries. The Local Locations Look Amazing. My first ever B&TB experience was abysmal. Not sure I’ll try local, now.
