A bagel shop known for bagel sandwiches with deli meats is coming to the northwest neighborhood.
The newest Call Your Mother bagel shop is coming to 1615 N Damen Avenue in Wicker Park, per a report from Eater Chicago. This is going in place of the former Dimo’s Pizza spot. Right now, the owners are hoping to open by next spring.
Husband-and-wife duo Andrew Dana and Dani Moreira have been operating Call Your Mother bagel shops since 2018 when they first opened in the Washington D.C. area. Along with D.C., they operate locations in Maryland, Virginia, Colorado and soon their Chicago shop. Dana and Moreira also operate Timber Pizza, a franchise with restaurants across the Northeast.
In a recent Instagram post last week, the owners showed themselves traveling to Chicago, teasing the new location. A shop also just opened in Fort Collins, Colorado.
When starting out, the two would go to farmers markets around D.C. Since growing their company across the country, they have partnered with organizations such as Urban Alliance to offer youth career training, and Martha’s Table which helps to feed those in need.
The shops are known for their meat-stacked bagel sandwiches, including the bestseller Sun City with choices of local bacon, pastrami or impossible sausage with egg and cheese. Seafood and vegan options are offered, as well as snacks like potato latkes and desserts.
Call Your Mother’s Wicker Park shop will be near Wicker Park’s center, a couple storefronts down from a Potbelly location. It will be close to the Damen Blue Line station. For more information on Call Your Mother Deli, visit their website.
