Several new restaurants, including a new CAVA, are making their way to Schaumburg now that the site once home to Macy’s Furniture Gallary at 1200 N. Meacham Road is being demolished.

The Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant chain is one of six new restaurants coming to the area, including Lazy Dog, Velvet Taco, Naansense, Crisp & Green, and Piccolo Buco, according to the Daily Herald. The restaurants will move into a proposed five-building development called Crossroads of Schaumburg in Spring 2024, with plans ready for consideration by the zoning board of appeals and the village board within the next few months. CAVA is a privately-held company with over 250 locations in the U.S.

Founders Ike Grigoropoulos, Dimitri Moshovitis, and Ted Xenohristos opened the restaurant in Rockville, Maryland, in 2011 before launching a line of dips and spreads to over 200 stores. The company was initially called CAVA Mezze Grill before Brett Schulman joined as CEO in 2009 and rebranded as CAVA Grill and, eventually, CAVA. The restaurant now operates under the CAVA Group, which also owns Zoe’s Grill. Since CAVA has become such a popular brand, the company has closed a handful of Zoe Kitchen locations and converted them to CAVA locations.

When the new site at the corner of Golf and Meacham Roads opens, customers can expect a handful of delicious Mediterranean dishes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. CAVA Offers various pita wraps and bowls made from greens and grains and topped with your favorite ingredients, such as grilled chicken, corn, avocado, tzatziki, hummus, feta, and more. The restaurant also offers delicious drinks, all made in-house, such as cucumber mint lime and blueberry lavender.
