Owners of a staple Joliet pizza shop are working on a different kind of business for the Joliet community.
Patch.com recently reported a new coffee shop called Cup of Joe By Cemeno’s will be opening at 3000 West Jefferson Street, near the Inwood Recreation Center. This is at the same location as Cemeno’s At the Park, the newest restaurant from the company. Now, the menu for the coffee shop is being created.
According to the article, this will serve smoothies, shakes and breakfast items along with coffee. It is meant to be a space close to the recreation center for people to socialize before or after a workout. The official opening date has not yet been announced.
The original Cemeno’s Pizza location is 1630 Essington Road. The company has been around since 1976, and the new coffee shop is named after Joe Cemeno who founded the pizza shop. The family carries on the company today.
Along with the build-your-own pizza option, the current Cemeno’s locations offer specialty pies like the ranch fries pizza, pickle pizza, mac daddy pizza and Philly cheesesteak pizza. A breakfast menu, burgers and fries, appetizers and desserts are also served.
“Cup of Joe celebrates the simple joys he cherished: a warm cup of coffee, a piece of toast, and heartfelt conversation with family and friends,” says the recent Facebook post.
What Now Chicago has reached out to the current Cemeno’s owner Pattie Guerin, who has not yet responded for comment.
