Cooper’s Hawk, an Illinois-based restaurant and winery chain, is looking to open a new location in Algonquin at the southwest corner of Randall Road and Commons Drive.

The company’s 16th Chicagoland location will sit within the Enclave, a 13-acre commercial development set to open at the end of next year, according to the Daily Herald. Other eateries coming to the planned development include Portillo’s, Raising Cane’s, BJ’s Brewhouse, and the tire repair business Belle Tire. The village board recently approved a deal with Kensington Enclave LLC after they asked the city for a sales tax rebate totaling $554,332, which was unanimously approved as a one-time payment.

The hefty price tag will be a great investment, as conservative staff estimates have the annual village tax revenues from the development would be over $605,000 once operations are fully up and running, according to Community Development Director Jason Shallcross. He tells the Daily Herald the new businesses will have a “spillover effect” that will benefit all the other surrounding businesses. In addition, the Enclave is expected to generate $300,000 in annual property tax revenues for area public bodies.

When all of these restaurants open next year, Cooper’s Hawk will be the premier upscale option. The restaurant, founded in Orland Park in 2005, will proudly feature the company’s four distinct components: an upscale casual dining restaurant, full-service bar, private dining room, and Napa-style tasting room/ artisanal market. Customers can expect a contemporary American menu infused with flavors worldwide. Every dish is made with peak-of-season ingredients and listed with a bin number to guide you to your selection’s perfect wine match.
