Those in Hometown who have a sweet tooth will soon have a new spot for donuts, sundaes and more
The Chicago Tribune recently reported that Donut Dudes is preparing a new location in Hometown this August at 4000 SW Highway. This marks the third location from the company since starting. According to co-owner Khader Zahdan, this project has been in the works for about a year.
Zahdan told What Now Chicago he and the team want to open the shop in mid-to-late August due to the traffic that will be coming in from Lollapalooza in the next few days. He and his brother Mohammed “Moe” will also be launching a drive-thru at the space, so there is a lot of preparation that goes into the addition. The two want to make sure it is in perfect shape for opening.
“We want to make sure that we do it right,” Zahdan said.
Donut Dudes is currently at 10301 S Kedzie Avenue in Chicago and at 10559 S Harlem Avenue in Chicago Ridge. Khader and Moe are both immigrants who were inspired to create a donut shop after regularly going to a local late-night donut spot with their father. Khader went on to study medicine and Moe pursued law, but the dream was still there.
The business has been advertising some of the most delectable treats recently, including a s’more milkshake and donut. A couple of the signature donuts are strawberry crumble and vanilla sprinkle. They do catering, as well as wholesale for organizations or events.
Along with the donuts and sundaes, the team will be bringing new concepts like donut, egg and cheese sandwiches, turkey donuts, and a build your own donut station. The station will have all the toppings people want set on the side. Coffee will also be served, partnering with a Florida-based coffee company that will help bring matchas and lattes to the space.
