A new unnamed restaurant will be making its debut in West Loop, located at 111 N. Carpenter St.

The new restaurant from Eleven Eleven Hospitality will move into the former home of French restaurant La Sardine, which closed in 2020 after nearly 22 years. Owner Nadine O’Malley tells What Now Chicago she expects the unnamed restaurant will likely open in April or May. Customers can expect an upscale fine casual dining restaurant with a menu of classic American dishes. While the exact entrees are unknown, the dishes will inspire and be consistent in flavor, quality, and ingredients.

On top of the delicious food, the restaurant will also implement a unique cocktail list with an added “MockTail” menu curated by master sommelier Ken Fredrickson. He will also create some of the most creative cocktails and spirit drinks the city has seen. The acclaimed sommelier has provided wine programs for world-renowned chefs such as Charlie Trotter and Wolfgang Puck. Most recently, he hosted the Caribbean Food and Wine Festival in Turks and Caicos. The new unnamed restaurant will also have a sidewalk cafe option for dining.

“Ken Fredrickson is going to create an American wine list to pair with the food, but also a very special reserve list for people who want to celebrate and go above and beyond the norm,” O’Malley tells What Now Chicago. “We will be carrying brands from High Road wine and spirits. We will be open every day of the week at 11 and will have a fun outgoing brunch on Sundays. “
