The breakfast and lunch cafe will soon have second location in South Loop.
The owner of Gold Coast Cafe Hani Mahfouz is planning his second location at 712 S Wells Street in South Loop. This new spot will be called Tabeeb Cafe. It is going to open in about six weeks.
The current cafe is in the heart of Gold Coast, as the name implies, at 754 N Clark Street. This location focuses on Mediterranean flavors, serving coffee in house and from Tabeeb Roasters. There are also many breakfast and lunch options served on site.
The current cafe’s menu has specialty lattes, breakfast items like bagel, egg and cheese sandwiches, and lunch sandwiches based off of local street names. Taleeb Cafe will be specifically serving specialty coffees from the company.
The new co-owners are Mohammed Awad and Tahani Hassan. Mahfouz is joining the two in this venture. As Awad and Hassan work on the coffees, they were inspired to create their own brick and mortar location in the city.
The cafe has been involved with the community for a while, hosting events like small concerts. They are also hosting pop-ups outside of the restaurant every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the rest of the summer. The employees will be preparing golden kunafa desserts.
The hours of operation have not been released yet, but will be at a later date. What Now Chicago has spoken with the owner, and this article may be updated.
