A coffee shop with two locations in the city is soon coming to The Loop.
Groundswell Coffee recently announced a new location will be opening at 410 S Michigan Avenue. This is in the 10-story historic Fine Arts Building. As of now, the estimated time of opening is in August.
According to an article from Block Club Chicago, the location will also have breakfast burritos, pastries and sandwiches. The space will be 1,000 square feet and is meant to cater to artists and visitors in the area. This is happening while the building is being renovated for the Studebaker Theater.
The coffee company also has locations at 4839 N Damon Avenue in Ravenswood and at 1168 W Madison Street in West Loop. Owner Jason Foster started the company in 2014 after working a number of years as manager at Starbucks.
“This new venture marks an exciting chapter–combining our passion for quality coffee with a space that inspires,” Foster said in a statement.
Groundswell offers their coffee in wholesale, and they have many seasonal blends, a Colombian decaf and a blend from Costa Rica. They also offer a coffee subscription for $16 a week. Teas sold at their locations, along with the pastries and breakfast sandwiches.
The new cafe will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. every day. What Now Chicago has reached out to the owner, and this article may be updated.
