Haire’s Gulf Shrimp is set to open their third location right on the Riverwalk this summer.

The company recently put in a liquor license application at 91-95 E Riverwalk for Toast Of Haire’s. This is the address of Beat Kitchen on the Riverwalk which recently closed down. This new location along the Chicago River is set to be a large restaurant with a bar inside.

The Louisiana-style shrimp restaurant was originally started by Finnie Haire in the early 1980s as a business in a train car, and following him passing away in 2021 it was taken over by his wife, Aisha Haire. They have two other locations in the city at 7448 S Vincennes Avenue and at 1156 S Jefferson Street in the South Loop, and they have been looking to further expand for a while.

“It’s two years in the making,” Haire told What Now Chicago.

Their Vincennes Avenue location is known for having “shrimp bomb bags” which are bags of shrimp in portions of 14, 19, 60 or 120 pieces. The restaurant also serves shrimp dinners with coleslaw and fries or spaghetti, as well as cocktail sauce or hot sauce.

As of now, the estimated time of opening is late June. The hours of operation for the business have not yet been revealed.
