The chicken spot is set to move into a Sheffield Neighbors pickleball facility soon.
Honey Butter Fried Chicken is bringing a new concept to the SPF Chicago (Social Pickleball Fun) pickleball venue. This will be called Honey Butter Beach Club, a chicken restaurant also featuring seafood options like lobster roll with scallion dressing and shrimp.
This is Honey Butter’s first collaboration with SPF Chicago. It was previously reported that the facility would be partnering with the owners of Honey Butter, and Eater Chicago has confirmed this will be a new restaurant. When speaking with co-owner Christine Cikowski, she told What Now Chicago she and Josh Kulp are hoping to open by September, but a date has not been finalized.
Together, we’re serving up the same hospitality-first spirit and craveable comfort food you know and love – in a vibrant, coastal-inspired space!” Says the post on their Instagram page.
The restaurant will be inside the space with a sit-down area right next to the pickleball courts. While this is catered to the pickleball players, it is also open to the public. Another addition inside the space is Kikwetu Kenya Coffee Company.
Honey Butter also has a location in Avondale at 3361 N Elston Avenue, and their Glencoe location is closed. The company also operates at a concessions booth in the United Center.
The pickleball facility is near the border of the Sheffield Neighbors area. On this stretch of N Clybourn there are restaurants like Fat Shack sandwich shop, Serai Malaysian and Koi Sushi across the street.
