A vegetarian Indian restaurant is coming soon to Schaumburg following delays in opening.
It was previously announced that Vanam Indian Vegetarian at 337 W Golf Road would be opening in the second quarter of 2025. Now, it is looking like sometime this month will be the time of opening. Vanam President Balaji Divi has been working hard with his team to prepare the restaurant.
“We’re passionate enough,” Divi told What Now Chicago.
On the menu, there will be soups, vada fried snacks, dosa crepes, idly and appetizers like chili and veggie spring rolls. There are also entrees like curry, masala and paneer. Divi describes the restaurant as “pure vegetarian.”
“Serving authentic North & South Indian vegetarian cuisine, crafted with legacy and tradition,” says the description on their Instagram page. Vanam refers to a forest in India, and that is the inspiration for the cuisine.
The restaurant is going on the northern side of Schaumburg. There are other restaurants around including bb q Chicken Schaumburg, 92 Town Korean BBQ Restaurant, NAATU Indian Restaurant and Bar and Royal buffet.
Divi told What Now Chicago he plans on franchising the restaurant with multiple locations eventually, but for now it is an independent restaurant. He will have more information on Vanam in the coming days.
