An upscale Italian restaurant is opening in place of the former Etta location.

It is being reported Deliz is opening at 1840 W North Avenue in Wicker Park. This comes from Steve Gogolab who has worked with STK restaurants in the past. According to Gogolab, the opening date is set for Dec. 8.

Deliz is meant to be an intimate Italian dining area downstairs, serving handmade pastas and wood-fired steaks. The space will serve cocktails with music playing in the background. It’s vibe will be perfect for date nights and classy evenings.

“Deliz was born from a love of bold flavors and that dolce vita state of mind–where Italian passion meets Chicago nights,” says the description on their website.

Gologab is working with chef Jake Peterson, who was the sous chef for Michelin-starred Acadia. Peterson has previous experience with running Etta’s kitchen, so it will be an easy adjustment when opening the new restaurant. For the steaks, Deliz is using a grill from a company called Grill Works in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This company has sold grills to famous chefs such as Jose Andres.

Along with steaks and pasta, seafood options like lobster, shrimp and crab are expected to be on the menu. The restaurant will also offer a dessert menu with truffle and basque cheesecake.

This is to be the first Deliz concept in the city. This area of W North Avenue is home to more Italian spots including The Pasta Bowl – Wicker Park. Construction is ongoing to prepare for the opening.

Deliz has no social media yet, but information on the restaurant can be found on their website.
