A bagel food tent that has been around since last March will soon have a permanent address in the suburb.
The Chicago Tribune recently broke news on Jimmy’s Bagels redeveloping a property on 716 E 31st Street in La Grange Park this year. This will be the first shop for the business. When speaking to owner Jimmy Zars, he said the space will be open in November.
Right now, Zars is looking to hire full-time staff, and he has been involved in farmer’s markets in La Grange and Brookfield to help get the word out about his business. He appreciates the support from locals and other small businesses at the markets.
“I’ve got a really good relationship with the community here,” Zars told What Now Chicago. He added as he lives in La Grange Park, it was another reason to settle at the location.
Along with the breakfast bagel sandwiches and bagels with cream cheese, he plans on adding coffee options such as lattes and expressos. A lunch menu will also be added with deli sandwiches. One of the more exciting additions will be Chicago-style hot dogs.
“We’ll just kind of keep expanding the menu as we get situated,” Zars said.
Jimmy’s Bagels will be at the address of the former Cafe Level Up & Lounge in La Grange Park. It will neighbor Rosati’s Pizza and Subway. Zars said the storefront is still in the buildout phase, but the bagel shop is getting closer to completion.
The business has been posting on social media that they are hiring for various positions in preparation for opening. For more information on the space, visit their Instagram @jimmysbagels.
