Joe’s Pizza is relocating just a few blocks from its original store in Jefferson Park at 5862 W. Higgins Ave.

The new location will move into the former home of Wall’s Flower Shop, according to the company’s website. Owner Francesco Demonte tells What Now Chicago he expects to move to the new site in January or February 2023. The new Joe’s Pizza, which will be called Joe’s on Higgins, will feature outdoor seating, a bar, a party room, and more. Customers can expect the same Italian classics from the original site, ranging from pizzas and pasta to sandwiches and seafood selections.

After spending more than 50 years in the neighborhood, the third-generation family-owned restaurant is getting ready to become the only pizza spot on Higgins Avenue. The new location will have to compete with Jet’s Pizza and Paterno’s pizza on the other side of I-90, along with several other pizza restaurants beyond that.

What sets Joe’s Pizza apart is the quality ingredients used in every item. Like many pizza restaurants, customers can expect various appetizers, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, and other entrees, such as chicken parmigiana, BBQ baby back ribs, shrimp by the pound, and lemon pepper tilapia. The restaurant also offers a handful of desserts for after the meal, including cannoli, cheesecake, and tiramisu. The original Joe’s Pizza is open for pick-up, delivery, dine-in, and catering.

CORRECTION: The previous article stated the company is opening a second location when it is, in fact, relocating.
