John’s Pizzeria Ristorante and Lounge To Close Existing Outpost, on Hunt For New Location

Old school Chicago pizza joint is set to close its doors June 30th, but are ultimately looking toward reopening

John’s Pizzeria Ristorante and Lounge has been around for around seven decades in Chicago and are looking to shut down the joint for the foreseeable future. Owners announced the closure of the space at 2104 North Western Avenue set to take place June 30, 2023.

According to a post on John’s Pizzeria’s Facebook, they have their eyes set on reopening to continue serving the classic Chicago style pizza. What Now Chicago contacted owner Larry Imburgia about the potential comeback of the restaurant but he declined comment on the matter.

With what information was provided through their Facebook and an article by Eater Chicago, the space will be closing due to a sale of the restaurant’s building and loss of their lease.

While the future of John’s Pizzeria Ristorante and Lounge in mostly unknown, they reassured customers in a Facebook post, “We’ll keep you in the loop here as any changes arise.”
