Residents of Libertyville are curious about work being done at a storefront on School Street.

Kozy is a restaurant and bar coming at 602 N Milwaukee Avenue in the village’s downtown, per a report from The Daily Herald. This is the location of the former Chrissoulas Greek spot. Owner Jay Lim told What Now Chicago the new restaurant will open sometime in April.

Lim is a local of Arlington Heights who also owns Naomi Sushi at 1309 E Rand Road. There, he specializes in Japanese cuisine with staples including edamame, spring rolls and handroll sushi. He moved from South Korea to the U.S. when he was 27 and attended Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Chicago.

“Modern restaurant and bar,” says the description on their Instagram page

Lim said the menu for his new restaurant has not been determined, but it will serve comfort food as well as craft cocktails. From The Daily Herald article, there will be dishes infused with American and Western flavors.

Kozy will be right in the middle of downtown Libertyville, at the corner of N Milwaukee Avenue and School Street. It neighbors Main Street Social, and Milwalky Taco is right across the street. The restaurant is also close to the Libertyville Metra station.

Liim has been planning the project for about a year. In a recent post, construction is being done inside. As the opening date gets closer, he will be providing more information on their social media.
