According to a recent article from Block Club Chicago, Lake Effect Brewing needs help bringing its first taproom to life at 3076 N Milwaukee Avenue.

A representative of Lake Effect Brewing was not immediately available to comment upon What Now Chicago’s request.

“The brewery, which moved operations from the Far Northwest Side to 3076 N. Milwaukee Ave. in 2022, has run into higher costs than expected while working to turn an old Avondale automotive store into a taproom, said brewery co-owner Clint Bautz.”

“The building has room for the brewery’s beer production and will have an indoor taproom and a beer garden in the back. The taproom has been in the works since 2022, but inflated construction costs after the height of the pandemic have brought the progress to a near standstill, the co-owner said.”

“The company is using the Honeycomb Credit platform, which aims to help small businesses raise needed funds through an equity raise, so supporters can invest to help make Lake Effect’s taproom a success. Investors will be entitled to regular distributions once the taproom is established and profitable, according to Lake Effect.”
