Lao Sze Chuan, the straightforward Chinese eatery found around the country, is opening new sites in Willis Tower and Schaumburg, the latter located at 1220 W Valley Lake Dr.

The company’s upcoming Schaumburg location will move into a vacant building next to the karaoke bar The Hideout and a Tesla dealership across from the Golf Point Plaza Shopping Center. Founder and celebrity chef Tony (Xiao Jun) Hu has opened locations throughout Chicagoland, as well as one in Connecticut, Minnesota, Texas, and Maryland. Lao Sze Chuan’s online menu also notes new locations coming to Chicago’s Willis Tower, as well as Houston, Frisco, and Beachwood, OH.

The exact opening date of these locations is unknown, but the company has been working on the Schaumburg site since before the pandemic. When the new Lao Sze Chuan’s opens, customers can expect plenty of Asian classics, including several noodles, fried rice, and vegetable options. The slow yet constant expansion is impressive for the company, considering the very first Lao Sze Chuan opened in 1998 in Chicago’s Chinatown and has since become one of the most beloved Chinese restaurants nationwide.

“Although Lao Sze Chuan has flourished since humble beginnings, our mission to offer, elevate, and promote gourmet authentic Chinese cuisine and provide exceptional customer service has never wavered,” according to the company’s website. “Our Grade A chefs are skillfully trained in Sichuan cuisine to provide the most authentic flavors at all locations. To this day, Lao Sze Chuan lives by the mantra “One Style For One Dish, A Hundred Dishes Have A Hundred Different Tastes,” a saying that keeps our most frequent customers coming back for more.”
