Evanston’s Giordano’s location will have a new tenant this spring.
Pizzeria DeVille is now opening a second location at 1527 Chicago Avenue in the city’s downtown. This follows Giordano’s closing at this address in January last year. The owner, J.R. Escobar, told What Now Chicago he and the team are aiming to open in mid-March.
The pizza company operates a two-story restaurant at 404 N Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville, serving wood-fired pizzas, appetizers and salads. Their flavors range from cheese to margherita, with even a Nutella pizza topped with bananas and strawberries. The pies are hand-made and Detroit style.
At the new location, Escobar and the team will serve hand-stretched and tavern-style pizzas. Sandwiches, burgers, fries and Philly cheesesteaks will all be options as well. Escobar wants the new location to be distinct from the Libertyville restaurant.
Escobar said he has been in communication with the owners of the Giordano’s location since the end of 2025 to occupy the space. Pizzeria DeVille also operates a food truck in the area, mostly serving pies in downtown Libertyville. Right now, there are no plans for additional locations in Chicagoland.
Pizzeria DeVille will be at the corner of Chicago Avenue and Davis Street, next to Todoroki Hibachi and Sushi. The storefront is also across the street from Patisserie Coralie, serving French baked goods. As the lease was just signed, construction will begin soon.
