A popular pizza spot on the South Side is closing its doors, but will offer specialty pastas while their new spot is in the works.
It was reported by Block Club Chicago that Lynn’s Chicago Pizza is closing their 501 E 61st Street location. During the closure, an e-commerce website will be set up to order pastas that can be picked up, then a new pizza shop will open sometime in the spring. An address is still being determined, according to co-owner Brandon Bruner.
The pizza restaurant has been around for almost three years, serving deep dish and thin crust to the Woodlawn area. Pastas like chicken parmesan, chicken alfredo and salads are also on the menu. For the new pasta business model, Bruner is hoping to keep revenue going and continue to connect with the community.
“Using Lynn’s Pizza Co. will be that bridge,” Bruner said.
Part of the reason for the closure was a low number of customers visiting. While the new location hasn’t been announced, it will be somewhere on the South Side. The company has also operated pop-ups around the country, serving at Varasano’s Pizzeria in Atlanta in September.
“We’re not finished, just regrouping,” said the post.
The temporary pasta business will be up and running on Dec. 1. For more information on Lynn’s Chicago Pizza, visit their Facebook page.
