A Logan Square brewery is moving west following the success of their flagship location.

Maplewood Brewery & Distillery announced a new location is opening in downtown Glen Ellyn at 486 Pennsylvania Avenue. The second brewery will have an expanded kitchen with beer brewed on-site. Right now, the team is targeting a spring 2026 opening.

Founder and CEO of Maplewood Adam Cieslak told What Now Chicago he grew up in the western suburbs along with Ari Megalis, Paul Megalis and Kevin Holl. The four found Glen Ellyn to be the perfect spot for a brewery. Following opening the first location over 10 years ago, he wanted to bring an option to the suburbs.

“We’ve always dreamed of growing beyond the city, but in a way that still feels like Maplewood,” Cieslak said in the press release.

The expanded kitchen will allow for more dishes like tavern-style pizza and gastro-pub style food. There will also be family friendly options. Cieslak said the menu is far from being developed.

For the drinks, the same staple brews and spirits can be expected, like the Son of Juice IPA and Charlatan American pale ale. THC seltzers and coffee are also planned. The space has room for 15 barrels which allows for 1,500 of beer production per year.

Maplewood’s new space is at the same address as Two Hound Red Brewing Co. This is across the street from Glen Oak Cafe and close to the Glen Ellyn Metra station. The timeline of construction is still being determined.

The Logan Square brewery continues to thrive as more events are planned for this fall. For more information on the current and new locations, visit their website maplewoodbrew.com.
