The ice cream chain with humble beginnings in Petoskey is continuing to grow in the Chicago area.

Kilwins franchisee Jackie Jackson recently announced in a social media post her new ice cream shop is coming to 54 E Randolph Street. This will be the city’s eighth location. There is not an exact opening date yet, but Jackson is aiming to debut the shop sometime this summer.

Jackson is also the franchise owner of Fatburger Buffalo Wings at 825 E 87th Street in the Chatham neighborhood. She is very involved in the community as she is a real estate broker and public speaker. In the past, she has tried to open two Kilwins locations in the Chicago area, and she believes this new shop will be a success.

“This journey is a true example of what happens when faith meets hustle,” says the post from Jackson.

Many online expressed excitement about the new location and congratulated Jackson. Now, signage is up at the storefront and those passing by have noticed the shop is coming soon.

The ice cream shop will be in the Parkline Chicago apartment building, in an area of the city with high foot traffic, close to Millennium Park. This is home to the Design Museum of Chicago, and a Starbucks is also at the building. Right across the street is Intelligentsia coffee shop.

Kilwins has seen growth in Illinois in the last year. What Now Chicago previously covered a location opening in the Burr Ridge shopping center, 745 Village Center Drive. The closest Kilwins location to the new one is at 310 S Michigan Avenue, also in The Loop.
