A popular pizza joint is moving from Uptown to the Noble Square neighborhood.
It was recently reported Milly’s Pizza In The Pan is closing their Uptown location at 1005 W Argyle Street and will be opening at 925 N Ashland Avenue in the coming months. July is the estimated month of opening, according to an article from Eater Chicago.
Owner Robert Maleski took to social media on April 29 to make the announcement the restaurant is moving. He started Milly’s in 2020 and took inspiration from his grandmother who made signature Chicago-style pizza. Since then, his location took off and has been a destination for this style.
“We will be sad to leave Uptown but we are also excited for this next step,” said the Facebook announcement from Milly’s Pizza.
Milly’s said in the post the new location will have a Middleby & Marshall oven which will increase the number of pizzas the restaurant can make. There will also be more limited seating. The space it is going in is currently listed as Lucky’s Food Group, a takeout restaurant.
The pizza shop has gained national recognition, once appearing on ABC News. They were in a competition with George’s Deep Dish Pizza for the best pizza, and Milly’s ended up winning. The restaurant was also ranked 11th in a list of 19 best pizzas in the world by timeout.com.
