Miskatonic Brewing Company, the Darien-based brewery, is opening a new full-service restaurant in Downtown Naperville, located at 47 E Chicago Ave Ste. 120.
The new restaurant will move into the former home of Restoration Hardware at an unknown time. Miskatonic Brewing plans to use the space to offer beer hall-style food, taking classic ideas, such as sausages, wursts, and schnitzel, and putting out sophisticated but simply executed versions, according to a recent job posting. Much of the food served at this restaurant will also have influence and inspiration from cuisine outside European classics. The company plans to use the space to offer many of its beers on tap.
The company, owned and operated by co-founders Josh Mowry and John Wyzkiewicz, can be currently found at 1000 N Frontage Rd. Unit C. The two, along with head brewer Cory Davidson, currently offer private events and guided tastings at the original site. The company is expected to provide these same features at the new restaurant. This will take the Miskatonic to the next level, which will soon have to compete with countless nearby restaurants such as Rosebud, Gyu-Kaku, Sullivan’s, and Fat Rosie’s Raco and Tequila Bar.
Since its inception, Miskatonic Brewing proudly serves a variety of beers, from its Vox German Pilsner to its Dungeon Master: Bone Hydra, a s’mores Imperial Stout. The brewery also serves a kettle sour with blueberries and peaches, a west coast IPA, a wild golden Ale, a double hazy IPA, and more. Miskatonic also partners with other local businesses for new releases, such as its current partnership with Stephanie Izard’s Billy Goat Tavern IPA and Pilsner.
