Two restaurateurs are bringing a new concept to Glen Ellyn next month.

MK STK + Bar will be opening at 400 N Main Street near the downtown area. This will be a restaurant, bar and lounge with different rooms for dining. If all goes well with construction, it is set to open in about a month.

The project comes from Joe Marino and John Kutrubis, two friends who have experience in the culinary industry. The two have been advertising their new project on social media, calling it “an approachable restaurant balanced with an elevated menu and modern interiors.” Right now, work is being done on the inside including the wallpaper.

The kinds of dishes advertised include scallops dejonge and jumbo lump crab cake. In a previous post, the owners were taking requests for dishes, and it said many have asked for vegetarian options. The full menu is expected to be released soon, including a drink menu.

As of Aug. 20, the restaurant is hiring for all positions. When asked about the opening, Kutrubis told What Now Chicago they are “close” to an opening, but no date is solidified yet.

The restaurant is going in at the corner of Main Street and Hillside Avenue, across the street from Blackberry Market. It is two blocks down from the Metra Glen Ellyn station. More information can be found on their Facebook page.
