A major change is coming to an Evanston ice cream staple.
Billy Bricks Restaurant Group announced the company will be opening their first brick-and-mortar for Moo Joe’s Ice Cream at the Parlor on Central space, 2002 Central Street. It will be an environment similar to the parlor, with new ice cream flavors. CEO of Billy Bricks Ric Gruber told What Now Chicago the first operational day is Dec. 3.
Moo Joe’s Ice Cream does catering and offers flavors like birthday cake, chocolate and cookie dough. For the new location, they will serve one of the favorites, THIS $&@! JUST GOT SERIOUS with smooth salted caramel ice cream, sea salt fudge and salted cashews. The ice cream has won awards from the World Dairy Expo, LA International Dairy Competition and National Ice Cream Retailers Association.
“We are really excited about our first brick-and-mortar Moo Joe’s location, and to be able to continue serving this award-winning ice cream,” Gruber said in a press release. The company is a sister brand of Billy Brick’s Restaurant Group and was started by the Gruber, Wilson family.
Parlor on Central is next to Backlot Coffee and Tag’s Bakery at the corner of Central Street and Prairie Avenue. This is close to the Central Street Metra station.
Gruber is the driving force behind Billy Bricks Pizza and has locations in Highwood, La Grange, Lombard, Naperville along with other suburbs. He also owns Corridor Kitchen and Tap in Lombard.
The hours of operation for the new location are 4-9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 4-10 p.m. on Friday, 1-10 p.m. on Saturday and 1-9 p.m. on Sunday. The ice cream company will be releasing more information prior to the opening on their Instagram @moojoesicecream.
